In its continued commitment to advancing environmental sustainability and youth-led climate action, the Healthy and Sanitized Environment Foundation (THASEF), in partnership with the Youth Movement for SDGs, will participate in the Katsina Youth Climate Summit 2025. This groundbreaking two-day hybrid event, scheduled for 20th–21st August 2025, will bring together young leaders, climate advocates, policymakers, and development partners to address pressing climate challenges and explore sustainable solutions for Katsina State. The first day will feature a virtual session on Youth and Climate Action, followed by physical engagements on the second day. The summit will serve as a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and inspiring community-driven change. Further details on THASEF’s participation will be shared as the event draws closer.

  1. Best of my understanding about thasef and climate action
    1. Environmental sustainability
This is the broader concept. It means using natural resources in a way that meets current needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. It covers:

    Protecting biodiversity and ecosystems

Managing water, soil, and air quality

    Reducing waste and pollution

Promoting circular economy and responsible consumption

    2. Climate action
This is a more specific subset of environmental sustainability, focused on addressing climate change by:
    Reducing greenhouse gas emissions (mitigation)
Adapting to unavoidable climate impacts (adaptation)
Transitioning to renewable energy and low-carbon technologies

    3. The relationship
Climate action is part of environmental sustainability. If we fail to act on climate change, long-term environmental sustainability becomes impossible.
Not all sustainability actions are climate actions. For example, protecting endangered species or cleaning a river may not directly address climate change, but they still contribute to overall sustainability.

Synergy: Many initiatives serve both—like reforestation, which absorbs CO₂ (climate action) and restores ecosystems (sustainability).

  2. This is a very good idea for creating a certain activities in the state for improvement of quality environment
